The Verdict
A little art-deco slice of primo beach real estate, with good food to boot.
You might be familiar with the Brighton Baths as the hot chip kiosk that breaks up your Sunday Beach Rd ride (#fitlife), or the spot where old people swim in freezing winter waters for no good reason at all.
But it’s also home to The Baths Middle Brighton, a shcmancy modern Australian dining room with some killer bayside views.
The Baths do a rotating specials night (come on Tuesdays to get steak, fries and a creamy béarnaise sauce for a cool $25, and on Sundays feel free to BYO) but the a la carte menu is a winner too.
Start the night with a glazed pork terrine with caramelised apple and ginger puree and red wine jus, or a cheeky 1/2 dozen oysters, served natural with a red wine shallot vinaigrette. For mains, it’s hard to go past the pan-fried salmon with brussel sprouts, burnt butter and red wine mustard.
If you're trying to make a good impression on someone (specifically someone from Brighton), we suggest bringing them here.
