The Break Room

The Verdict

Previously nestled at the back of the unassuming Kines cafe, The Break Room has now moved to the Collingwood Mastercraft warehouse. A move which may happen again—because this is basically just a pop up plastic box with a stool in the middle and a couple of pink baseball bats on hand.

Willing participants, who are requested to wear pants and closed shoes, suit up in reasonably minimal protective gear—a jacket, gloves, and a headgear choice from various fetching helmet/welders mask options. Owner, Ed Hunter, tells us his lawyer and insurance company are pretty content with the whole set up. Frankly, I'm surprised this crazy idea got insured... But also happy. Very happy.

All it was missing was a refreshing bevvy post-bash: after all, this is sweaty work. But hey—it's Collingwood. Plenty of options around here. See you next week then? This is way cheaper than my psychiatrist.
