The Verdict

With its pink velvet walls and emerald green soft furnishings with gold finishes, high-end glitzy venue The Greville looks, walks, and talks like it belongs in Prahran.

It’s a multi-functional space, split into three connected areas: a swanky champagne bar which can fit up to 50 people, a tasteful restaurant and dining hall, and a spacious dance floor that is open on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 pm until 3 am.

Head Chef Casey Norman (ex-Cumulus, Baby and Fable in Vancouver) has a strong commitment to Victorian producers and local, sustainable produce. Menu highlights include melt-in-your-mouth Kobe beef, crispy grilled calamari, tangy Yellowfin tuna tartare and juicy king prawns. Perfect for summer, if you ask us.

As for drinks, let bar manager and mixologist Alan Coop whip you up one of his greatest hits. We think it’s a three-way tie between the Midsummer Nights (Four Pillars gin, blood orange, ginger and Sambuca), the Basil Rolling (basil-infused Belvedere vodka, St. Germain and a splash of lime), and the Smoke and Mirrors (Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, honey, Laphroaig 10yo Mist, and Angostura bitters). But we’ll let you decide for yourself.

So whether you’re looking for a nice dinner or you're primed for a night out, The Greville’s ready for you Wednesday and Thursday from 5 pm until late, or Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm until late.
