The Verdict
The Hampton’s Bakery has a simple approach towards hospitality—great food, great coffee and great service. Sounds like it’s right up our alley.
This spacious café in Hampton is home to some elite brunch options, with a huge focus on artisan bread and pastries.
Opening its doors in July 2016, it is part of the well-renowned Tommy Collins Group and set out to be ‘a place where one could enjoy all the luxuries of a Melbourne café with the addition of fresh bread and pastries baked exclusively in-house.’
To say these guys have it all would be a serious understatement; freshly baked bread, pastries, cakes alongside a full breakfast and lunch menu (they're also open for dinner on Friday's).
If you’re looking to break bread, The Hampton’s has you covered; stoneground white, wholemeal, pumpkin and soy sourdough, along with a huge range of baguettes.
With sweet options galore the pastry cabinet is an impressive feat; fresh croissants; almond, ham and cheese, pain au chocolate and pain au raisin. These are alongside a serious cake and cookie range; apple tarts, lemon meringue tarts, triple chocolate cookies, brownies and doughnuts to name a few.
But if you’re wanting to sit down and enjoy the extensive menu our pick is the slow braised beef brisket benedict; milk loaf, spinach, poached eggs and a whipped tofu hollandaise. Alternatively, you can keep it sweet and opt for the French Toast Bun; caramelized banana, mascarpone, berries and honeycomb.
