The Verdict

South Yarra at it’s very best. This was one of the Arts Series’ flagship hotels, named after revered Aussie landscape artist Dr John Olsen.

The Olsen’s location is tough to beat. You’ve got Two Wrongs and Spoonbill just downstairs, the Nordic-inspired Smäk around the corner (they do a wicked chilli scrambled), and Adriano Zumbo’s dessert emporium is only a few minute’s walk away. Most interstate visitors will gravitate to the CBD for the shopping, but here you’ve got Chapel St right on your doorstep.

The hotel itself is beautifully appointed. The rooms are tastefully decorated, you’ve got A-Grade EVO moisturiser and shampoo in the bathroom, and the pool actually hangs over Chapel St. For pampering, head to the in-house Day Spa. They’ll massage the shopping aches right out of your feet.
