The Verdict

Combine the aesthetic of a speciality grocer, the aura of a cafe and the beautiful food of a top-notch restaurant and you get Toorak Tracktor. Situated in the prime area of the Toorak Park precinct, right next to Toorak Train Station, you’re never too far away from this wonderful establishment.

Serving early morning lattes right through to pre-dinner wine and artisan food products, seven days a week from 7 am to 7 pm, Toorak Tracktor is your one-stop shop for pretty much everything.

The café’s Executive Chef Mark Wallen has been part of the Melbourne food scene for over twenty years and has done a wonderful job creating an invitingly appetising menu. Locally-driven and seasonally aware and are two of the cornerstones to Toorak Tracktor’s guiding pillars, with the third being ‘surprise and delight’. And boy, does it surprise and delight.

The Toorak Tracktor’s menu is ever-changing, which is great news for those with a short culinary attention span. Take the Tracktor Benny (Toorak Tracktor’s eggs benedict offering) for example—it changes on a weekly basis and believe us when we tell you, it is always on point. We’re talking double smoked beef bacon eggs benny, house-smoked beef brisket eggs benny, or smoked salmon eggs benny...the possibilities are endless.

If something sweeter tickles your fancy, you can opt for some mouth-watering french toast or luscious hotcakes, served with muscat poached Shepparton figs, housemade lemon myrtle ricotta, Gympie macadamias. Holy yum.

Besides the delectable brunch options, there are plenty of lunch and dinner items that’ll hit the spot—dive into the housemade prawn and pork gyoza with egg noodles, chicken broth, pickled mushrooms and broccolini or the housemade linguine with swordfish, chilli, olives, capers and basil. Whatever you’re fancying, Toorak Tracktor has it.
