Tutti I Sapori Italian restaurant

the verdict

Melbourne's pizzeria scene is one that just keeps on giving, and the latest restaurant to toss a mozzarella-covered slice into the ring is Tutti I Sapori. With over seven years experience in the inner north, the Fitzroy North restaurant is the latest Melbourne venue to receive membership of the prestigeous Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) in Naples—a mark of Italian quality and expertise that is overseen in Australia by 400 Gradi's head chef, Johnny di Francesco—for its Margherita Verace pizza, the traditional kitchen is about much, much more than dough and passata sauce.

Headed up by general manager Mark and his mother, Nina, all of the recipes on offer started life in Nina's home kitchen. As well as mouth-watering pizzas cooked in the venue's custom woodfire oven, you'll be tucking into incredible Naples-style gnocchi, Spaghetti Siciliano, and the juiciest meatballs to be found in Melbourne—perfect for a hearty feast that will have you dreaming of Italian shores! There's an Italian twist on brunch, too, with Eggs San Daniele (that's poached eggs and rcket topped with some of the best prosciutto to be found) vying to replace avo and feta on toast as our usual breakfast go-to.

The team keep things traditional when it comes to desserts. Expect Nutella calzone, rich, cocoa-topped tiramisu and a variety of aperitifs and digestifs that make for a wonderful way to start or finish your Tutti experience. If it's a taste of Italy's finest rustic cuisine that you're after but can't quite afford the air fare, Tutti I Sapore is a fantastic substitute that's close to home.
