The Verdict

Coffee lovers unite. Undercover Roasters have opened their HQ cafe and store in Abbotsford and it is all time. The wholesale business has stuck through the pandemic to open their flagship, so you can now enjoy their signature coffee with a stack of brunch and breakfast options.  

On the menu you’ll find plenty of options to take your fancy. We’ve got our eye on The Big Easy—rosemary and cheesy potato hash with smoked beef brisket or pulled pork shoulder, onion jam, kohlrabi and apple slaw, poached egg and hollandaise. Anyone else drooling? For the sweet tooths, you can have Dessert For Breakfast—crumpets stacked with poached peaches, strawberry compote, whipped vanilla and thyme mascarpone. The ice cream is optional in theory, but we know it’s not in practice. 

The lofty venue is filled with plants, moody lighting and sleek timber finishes—the perfect background to your grammable meal. The central bar is best considered as a shrine to coffee; there’s a modbar, which is essentially several high-end coffee machines built within the counter, and what that means is that the team can pump out flat whites, magics and everything in between in bulk, without compromising on quality. There’s also a leafy, light-filled courtyard for the perfect slow Sunday morning. Best of all, the entire venue is dog friendly.

Coming into 2021, Undercover Roasters will be launching a sensory experience for punters to learn more about coffee, and taste a lot of the stuff along the journey. 

Undercover Roasters are open daily from 7am to 4pm. They’re also available for events and functions for the coffee fanatics out there.
