The Verdict

Flashback twenty years ago where Vincent was running his vegetarian shop for local Footscray customers dabbling in the lifestyle choice for unheard-of reasons. It’s now 2019 and the store has re-emerged in Fitzroy’s trendy as all hell Brunswick St as a vegan haven and one-stop-shop for basic goodies as well offering a standing coffee spot.

As veganism is becoming an increasingly popular global trend with consumers adopting an environmentally friendly diet, Vincent’s Marketplace is attracting the attention of many in the area. With the help of Vincent’s son who left his job to join the family business, the team is on the hunt for fresh and creative ingredients to add to their collection.

Currently, their very own take on fried chicken, nuggets and dumplings are taking Fitzroy and neighbouring suburbs by storm as locals drop in and pick up their dinner and an afternoon almond latte to keep them ticking along. Crowned the ‘godfather’ of plant-based establishments, this quaint cafe next to Doughnut Time is all about local products which they uphold by serving St Ali coffee beans and bread and pastries straight from Weirdoughs, all totally vegan of course.
