The verdict

Housed in a beautiful Victorian mansion on Williams Road in Prahran, Woodland House is the culinary collaboration between chefs Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland. Arguably one of Melbourne's best restaurants, Woodland House has a huge focus on using local, seasonal and sustainable produce, making for a truly unique dining experience – quite often there are new dishes making an appearance each day!

The team have also done away with the traditional restaurant menu; instead Woodland House offers patrons incredible degustation and 5-course tasting menus (matched wines are optional…but we highly recommend it!) perfect for mid-week dining, private functions, romantic date nights and other special occasions.

There's also a Sunday lunch option, featuring a chefs selection set menu, where the hardest choice you'll face is whether you go for 4 or 6 courses. In addition to the exquisite food, Woodland House features one of the best wine lists in Melbourne with some impressive older vintages of Australian reds. With attention to detail that's second to none, Woodland House is a Melbourne fine dining experience not to be missed!
