The Verdict

Glen Waverley is inviting in a new generation of Asian cuisine—and boy are we happy to see it. The fourth venue from brothers Nolan, Brian Taing and partner Joe La, Workshop Bros Glen Waverley is an inventive all-day diner.

Breakfast brings Asian-inspired Melbourne brunch. Hong Kong waffles mingle with pumpkin caramel, while century egg congee sits alongside a humble granola. Dinner hails in a more refined, share-style menu. Pork and prawn spring rolls with yuzu mayonnaise is hard to fault, while five spiced chicken wings are worth dropping your fork for.

The interior, designed by Studio Esteta, is easily a level up from Kingsway’s traditionally hawker-style restaurants. Light, airy and modern, concrete archways meet pastel pink hues in this playfully sophisticated space. For once, you can judge this café by its cover.
