THE VERDICT
Winter is looking fresh for new openings in Melbourne, and our sights are set on Yaki Nau. We don’t know a ton yet but we do know it’s a Japanese diner with BBQ taking centre stage, and food is by Chef Hugo Mai who’s dipping into his wealth of experience from Nobu to bring Yaki Nau to life.
It promises to balance the fine diner experience with a relaxed atmosphere to get the best of both worlds. The wagyu is cream of the crop, sourcing 100% fullblood wagyu beef, so you know it’s the real melt-in-your-mouth good stuff.
