2025 is almost history. Only one question remains—where will you be when the new year dawns? Party it up in absolute style with NYE shindigs a-plenty, whether you’re after a glittering glass of the good stuff, a solid serve of house beats, you want to farewell the year that’s been from a jaw-dropping rooftop, with a belly full of the city’s best kai, or kicking back with something more mellow (and ideally matcha-infused). Plus fireworks, obvs.

So take your pick of Tamaki’s best New Year’s Eve parties, round up your crew, snag those tickets and get ready to shake it like it’s 2026 tomorrow (because it almost is).

Every time I step into Bar Albert, I feel like a million bucks. Surely that sort of atmosphere would manifest good vibes for the year ahead. I’m inclined to find out, particularly given a glass of Louis Roederer Champagne will appear in my hand upon arrival. Throw in promises of a cheese station—I repeat, a cheese station—with antipasto and late night canapés and consider my rubber arm twisted. Besides, there’s no better view of the neighbouring Sky Tower fireworks.

I was immediately besotted with Sunset’s NYE lineup. Kicking off from 8pm they start the build to the big calendar switch up with Nyntee and Martina on the decks, and Murry Sweetpants’ sonic being the last thing you’ll hear in ‘25 and the first in ‘26. But I’ve got to applaud the scheduling that has The Loneliest Hunk playing the final shift in an ode to all the punters who’ve made a move but struck out. For that, Sunset earns a spot on this list, and a virtual salute from me.

When: 31 December, from 8pm

Cost: $59-69
