Feast Up Large, For A Good Cause 

Not to be dramatic but if you missed the memo and haven’t been getting along to the behind-the-scenes tours, workshops, free exercise and coffee giveaways that make up Britomart’s Sustainability Week, this is your chance to right that wrong, by pulling up a pew at Everybody Eats At The Hotel Britomart. The mystery menu will feature rescued food, transformed into an incredible three-course menu by Chef Andrew Lautenbach, with $40 from every ticket being donated to local charity, Everybody Eats.

Join The Breakfast Club

Start Friday morning with some inspiration (and a free breakfast) from CreativeMornings/Auckland. Part of a global monthly breakfast and lecture series, this month’s talk features Ina Arraoui, a visual artist, educator and curator specialising in contemporary printmaking  and founder of the Printopia Festival of Original Print.

Make An Appearance At This Solstice Fashion Show

New-season style will walk the runway to beats by P Money, styled by none other than the trailblazing Sammy Salsa. And if you’re in the mood for a bit of retail therapy, drop $150 at participating Solstice retailers to score a token for a claw machine that might just see you doing a strut of your own, straight into a $5k Commercial Bay spending spree. Part of Solstice at Commercial Bay, a four-day festival of fashion, music, food and entertainment which runs all weekend.

Enter The Universe Of Kitti

After Neck Of The Woods almost got wiped off the face of the planet, stepping onto its dancefloor feels all the more powerful. Add some sonic seasoning–the KITTI - internet + girl music edit–and you’re in for one helluva night. The lineup features Dollhouse, gumhose, bobstevenson, KEJU b2b WHIMC, and lu*two.

Find A Gem At A Pop-Up Makers Market In A Brewery

Little Edge Makers Market is a pop-up market series that donates 10% of sales to charity. Sales from this iteration, which is set to pop up at Saint Leonards Brewing between 12 and 4pm,  will be donated to Arthritis New Zealand Mateponapona Aotearoa which helps people affected by arthritis by providing clinical advice and resources, community connection, and support for work and home. Head over for lovely things like ceramics, candles, cookies, art and prints, and leather work.

Ponder Life’s Mysteries Over A Cup Of Cabbage Tree Tea 

Tī kōuka (cabbage tree) has been brewed into a medicinal tea and made into fibre for cloak weaving for many years, as part of rongoā and māturanga Māori (traditional Māori medicine and knowledge). Artist Brook Konia (Ngāti Porou, Kōtimana, Pākehā) is hosting a free guided workshop this weekend where you’ll learn how to do both.

What’s On In Tāmaki Makaurau This Sunday

Have Treats For Breakfast At This Sunday Morning Pop-Up

Parable House is usually closed on Sundays which means it’s firmly on my Saturday brunch rotation. But this Sunday, doors will be open from 8am—for a pop-up with Yumso Bakery by Iro. The menu is yet to be released but if past pop-ups are anything to go by (green grape tarts, honey castella, truffle financier and earl grey dacquoise), it’s giving you raided your rich aunt’s dessert cabinet. Pup-friendly.

Snap Up Last-Minute Tickets To Jason Derulo 

It’s your last opportunity to get tickets to Jason Derulo, and if you snooze now, you might just regret it forever because this concert’s sure to go straight to core memory. Send Your Kids To The Circus 

Kaupapa Māori production company Te Pou Theatre has joined forces with Dust Palace to put together a circus theatre experience for tamariki, and it’s in te reo Māori. Part of the two-week festival, We The Young, which runs through to 11 October, you can expect aerial acrobatics, juggling and adventure as two cheeky siblings attempt to get ice creams home before they melt.

The Mid-Autumn Festival (a.k.a Moon or Mooncake Festival) is the second most important festival in Chinese culture, and is a celebration of families gathering together. So of course this signals the return of The Auckland Moon Festival, a three-day party packed with food, a cultural marketplace, performances and traditional Chinese experiences. whānau-friendly activities, and a lantern display.
