Activewear brand LSKD has just made its Aotearoa debut, opening a brick-and-mortar store in Takapuna which is kind of a big deal (goodbye shipping fees!). Short for “Loose Kid”, the Aussie brand is renowned for its functional activewear and streetwear. To celebrate them jumping across the ditch we caught up with Lilz a.k.a. Crossthick (LSKD ambassador and featured athlete in the new LSKD doco 'unapologetically me') who chatted us through her fave bits of LSKD kit.

REP Tights

The original LSKD leggings, REP tights are made from the label’s signature 4-way stretch Rep Fabric so they’re ready to give your bod top-tier compression and support. “Ever since giving birth, REP has been my absolute favourite,” says Lilz. “For every mum out there, we know that we just need something to hold that mum tum in to feel comfortable to train and also have that compression for extra support.” These leggings are matt, moisture-wicking and our favourite part is their black-black colourway which means no awkward sudden see-through moments when you’re mid-squat or in downward dog. How good.
Flux Tights

LSKD describes their Flux tights as a hybrid fit for all day performance and comfort. What that means is you can hang out in them all day without feeling all bloated at the end of it (IYKYK). Set apart from REP Leggings by their slimline elastic waistline and side pockets in all styles (always a win), Lilz describes them as “not as huggy [as REP], and some days I need that.” Amen, baddie.
Flow Performance Tank

The Flow Performance Tank is Lilz’s go-to tank. “It hugs me in all the right places and I love how it looks and feels on me.” The racerback silhouette with scoop neckline is made from a new fabric for LSKD made from post-consumer recycled nylon which is form-fitting making it a great choice for reformer pilates where baggier clothes could get caught in the rails or springs. Snap it up in black, white, elemental blue, power cobalt, tangerine, turbulence (that’s grey btw), dark chocolate or raspberry.
Go-To Modal Oversized Cropped Tee

“It’s flowy, it’s comfortable AND it’s a crop!! Um. yes.” LSKD’s Got-To Modal Oversized Cropped Tee is made from a cotton modal blend fabric. Modal itself absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton does, so this is a great choice for high-sweat exercise like boxing.

Performance Socks

Lilz reckons these are the comfiest socks on the planet and that’s probably because they’re built with an overachieving (think: moisture wicking and breathable) yarn dubbed ‘CoolDry’. And isn’t that everything we want in a sock? No, wait, we also want compression arch support and they’ve got that too. Naiiice.
Train Lite FLXMAX Jacket

Let’s be real, sometimes only a dude’s jacket is going to cut it. Lilz’s pick? The Train Lite FLXMAX. “I just love this jacket. Love how it looks on me, love how it feels on me. It’s a little fitting on me but not too much which is perfect to chuck on and chuck off.” The jacket’s made from nylon and spandex so it’s super soft and stretchy and won’t restrict your movement in any way.
Elixir Tights

If you’re after a legging that’ll walk you through every minute of your day with ease, Elixir’s buttery, soft vibe is for you. Made from LSKD’s ‘Zephyr’ fabric (a 4-way stretch blend of nylon and spandex), these leggings feel like a second skin. Lilz says she’ll wear them on any given day, whether she’s training, shopping, going out, whatever. Note that if you’re after pockets with this one, you’ll want to go with their full length.
Movement Active Tank

This one’s a newer addition to Lilz’ wardrobe. “It’s my new favourite tank to wear anywhere and everywhere.” Similar to Elixir, the Movement Active Tank has a second skin feel but instead of being made with the O.G. Zephyr fabric, it’s the luxe edit (literally ZephrLUXE). It’s also got a built in shelf bra.
