If you thought lifting a beachside martini to your mouth was the most movement you’ll do on your next Fiji escape, think again.
There are sights to behold, turquoise waters to explore, fresh produce to eat, and fish to befriend. But don’t take our word for it. From the top-notch suggestions you sent our way, we’ve rounded up the non-negotiable places to visit in Fiji.
Bike Through History
Eco Trax Fiji bundles together everything you need in an island adventure. History, nature immersion and a bit of activity—before delivering you to a private beach.
You’ll ride special e-bike-carriages on an old sugar cane tram line through the Coral Coast. Pedal past suspended river bridges, beaches, lush canopies, and local villages—it’s all yours to take in across 22km.The jewel in the Eco Trax adventure is a secluded beach where you can sip coconuts, nibble local fruit and live your best tropical island life.
Channel Your Inner Mermaid at Beqa Lagoon
Further proof that Fiji is just as much a paradise *under* the water, is Beqa Lagoon, a scenic three-hour drive from Nadi. It’s a bit away from the mainland, so a scenic boat ride is your first thrill here. Once your tanks are on (or even just casual snorkelling gear), you’ll be making all kinds of friends: huge schools of fish, octopus, a handful of sharks and peeking moray eels.
Serious divers will delight in the fact there's over 100 dive sites mapped out, like The Three Nuns, Carpet Cove, Caesar’s Rocks, and one of the most otherworldly, the E.T.
Soak In Sabeto Hot Springs And Mudpool
Unwinding in nature doesn't get better than a day trip and dip at the Sabeto Hot Springs & Mudpool. Here, it’s all about hopping from spring to spring—four in total, each with different temperatures—cleansing off layers of mineral-filled mud that you’ve sunbaked onto yourself.
Spend A Day At Natadola Beach
When you’re picturing Fiji’s knock-out beaches, chances are it’s Natadola Beach. We’d bet our bottom dollar that it's this exact soft white sand, crystalline water and fringe of palm trees that’s tacked onto your vision board right now.
Here, snorkelling, basking, long beach-walking, and even horseback riding are a go. It's also only 45 minutes from Nadi, making it the perfect day trip from your hotel or resort.
Pretend You’re In A Movie At Sawa-I-Lau Caves
Alongside lagoon cruises and floating beach clubs, Sawa-I-Lau Caves should be top of your on-the-water hitlist in Fiji. Located near the top of the Yasawa Island chain and accessible via nearby resorts and Blue Lagoon Cruises, there’s nothing that says—or screams—tropical island adventures more than the hidden, jaw-dropping views in these caves.
Think turquoise pools of seawater, towering limestone walls, a natural, cathedral-like dome overhead—it’s a sight to behold. Organised groups and tours are the only way to access this wonder, where a local guide will take you through an opening in the rocks to the refreshing waters below—there's even a chance to swim through an underwater cave if you're feeling adventurous.
Snorkel Or Dive In A World Of Colour At Rainbow Reef
With a name like Rainbow Reef, you know it’s going to be majestic. To get there involves a flight from Nadi and a boat ride from Tavenui Island, but it's more than worth the journey. Get geared up, tighten those fins and sink into a world of colour while diving among its 4,000 square kilometres of coral reefs. Turtles, fish, and a few friendly reef sharks all call this strip home.
Surf Cloudbreak’s Legendary Waves
Cloudbreak shakes up everything you know about Fiji—literally. One of Kelly Slater's favourite swells, this left-hand reef break is one of the best tubes in Fiji (some would argue the whole region). Sometimes swelling to a whopping ten feet as it breaks out on the reef, these waves are not for the faint-hearted.
Located off the Mamanuca Islands, it's a 1-hour boat ride from Port Denarau, recommended for experienced surfers only. To organise a trip, check out Fiji Surf Co or hit up the water sports team at your resort.
Float Through Navua River
Thought Fiji’s splashy fun happened only at the beach? Think again. There are plenty of rivers in Fiji, with the Navua River flowing a distance of 65km through the island of Viti Levu. Located 3 hours from Nadi in the Pacific Harbour region, opt for a river tubing trip, which includes a longboat ride up the river to a village, a waterfall walk, lunch and then a float down rapids in a rubber tube. Further up the river, embark on a white water rafting trip through majestic canyons with Rivers Fiji.
