Covid may have put the brakes on Food Truck Fridays one too many times recently, but worry not because Britomart's fave weekly food event is returning with a bang, including a different foodie theme every week for the month of April.
If you're unfamiliar with Food Truck Fridays, here's the deal: every Friday between 11:30am-2:30pm, a fleet of the city's tastiest food trucks park up at Takutai Square in Britomart, drawing street-food lovers from far and wide. Brought to us by the good folk at the Food Truck Collective, this is an absolute must-do for anyone and everyone in Auckland who considers themselves a foodie.
Things are kicking off on April 9 with a special vegan-themed event, where you'll find plant-based eats aplenty including Sweet As Bowl's wholesome hangi bowls and banoffee pie (droool).
Next up is an Italian Eats event on April 16, with pizza and other goodies, just like Nonna would make thanks to the geniuses at Amaranto (who, btw, make their pasta gluten-free) and others.
Things get exotic on April 23 when an Asian-themed event rolls into town—you'll find us slurping our way through ramen from Miso Ra, then chowing down on Indonesian rice bowls from Canteen Bali.
Last but certainly not least is an epic Cheat Eats event on April 30. This is hands-down the one we're most excited for, and though the full line-up is yet to be announced, we do know that A) Brooklyn Dogs are going to be dishing up their ridiculously good hot dogs and B) belt-loosening WILL be required.
One thing's for sure, we'll be eating our way through all four of these delicious events. See you there.
