Best espresso martinis auckland

As suckers for both coffee and booze, it would only make sense that we’d enjoy them together. Once upon a time, some clever individual found a way to deliciously merge the two and the espresso martini was born.

Although our love for this classic, classy beverage will never die, a few of Auckland’s best bars and restaurants are introducing us to an entirely new pack of espresso-meets-alcohol dranks. These creations will take you from a big day at the office to a big night on the town.

Here’s where to find the best coffee cocktails in Auckland.

Must try: The Clooney

With butter syrups, chocolate bitters and bone marrow bourbon, Revelry’s latest cocktail menu of ‘Drinks To Save Your Soul’ is nothing short of a masterpiece. Their take on the espresso martini is The Clooney—vodka, espresso, PX Sherry, Nonino liqueur and the unexpected yet awesome addition of marshmallow. You’ll want to work your way through the rest of Revelry’s libations and The Clooney is the only way to start.

Bedford Soda & Liquor

Must try: Espresso Bourbon Maple Shake

Surprise, surprise, our obsession with hardshakes is still going strong. Whenever the coffee/alcohol/sugar combo of cravings kicks in, head to Bedford Soda & Liquor for their Espresso Bourbon Maple Shake. This heavenly shake is blended with bourbon, espresso, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream, and will be one of the best boozy coffee concoctions you’ll drink in Auckland.

46 & York

Must try: Red Hot Espresso Martini

Like a bit of oomph in your cocktail? 46 & York’s Red Hot Espresso Martini packs a punch with chilli infused coffee liqueur, crème de cacao, espresso and cognac. Not for the faint hearted.

Auckland CBD

Must try: Rum Kahve

Staying true to their contemporary Middle Eastern roots, Beirut have wowed us with their Rum Kahve cocktail. Pistachio, saffron and cardamom are cocktail ingredients you might turn your nose up at, but trust us, when sipped alongside date-infused 8-year-old rum and cold brew coffee, you’ll be one happy diner. It’s one of the best coffee cocktails in Auckland.

Must try: Espresso Martini

Simple, classic and much loved by Auckland’s coffee cocktails fans. SPQR’s espresso martini is a mix of vanilla vodka, Kahlua and an espresso shot. Nothing too fancy, but crowned one of the best espresso martinis in Auckland by many.
