The Verdict
Meaning ‘lucky child’ in Japanese, Fukuko is undoubtedly one of Auckland’s hotspots for shochu cocktails, Mexico-meets-Japan tacos, and other delicious nibbly bits. Rock up to the Tyler Street bar during lunchtime for donburi bowls, or head there after work for fried chicken, plum wine, or a Fukuko cocktail or two—the Midowray Sipper (Midori, Wray & Newphew rum, Cointreau, and lime) will go down a treat.
