MJ The Michael Jackson Musical Is Coming To Singapore In 2027

Singapore is about to get a whole lot more moonwalking. Four-time Tony Award-winning MJ THE MICHAEL JACKSON MUSICAL will make its Singapore debut at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands for a limited season in August 2027. Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the production comes to Singapore from original Broadway producers Lia Vollack and John Branca, alongside Michael Cassel, and marks a major international theatrical event for the city.

A waitlist is now open for those wanting first dibs on tickets, with registrations closing on 27 September 2026 at 11.59pm SGT. Priority access and pre-sales begin from 28 September, with public ticket sales opening on 30 September at 10am SGT. Early-bird discounts of up to 20% will be available during the priority and pre-sale periods, with all offers ending on 30 October 2026 at 11.59pm SGT.

Set in 1992 against the backdrop of Michael Jackson’s Dangerous World Tour, MJ takes audiences behind the scenes as the superstar works to bring the ambitious tour to life. The story unfolds through the perspective of an MTV journalist given rare access to Jackson’s rehearsal room, offering a glimpse beyond the iconic songs and signature dance moves and into the creative mind of one of the world’s most influential entertainers. Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, the production features more than 25 Jackson hits, including Beat It, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror and Thriller.

The Singapore season also carries a little extra nostalgia, with Jackson having performed two sold-out concerts in the city during his Dangerous World Tour in 1993. Since its Broadway debut, MJ has been seen by more than eight million people across Broadway, London’s West End, Hamburg, the United States and Australia, earning four Tony Awards, including Best Choreography for director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon OBE. The production has also picked up international acclaim for its choreography, theatrical design and high-energy performances.
