Nearly 130 original works by Maestro Fernando Botero are landing at Singapore in a landmark showcase presented by IMBA, jointly presented with the Fernando Botero Foundation.
Known for his instantly recognisable rounded forms, Botero’s work explores power, politics, society and the human condition through scale, satire and quiet provocation. Set within the dramatic surroundings of Gardens by the Bay, the exhibition promises a striking visual dialogue between Botero’s oversized figures and the city’s most iconic landscape.
Rolled out across three formats, the presentation begins outdoors with Garden Grandeur, where six monumental bronze sculptures will be on view at the Silver Garden from 24 January 2026, with a further four sculptures installed at IMBA Theatre.
Inside IMBA Theatre (West Lawn, next to Bayfront Plaza), the Heart of Volume gallery exhibition opens 13 February 2026, featuring 118 paintings, drawings and indoor sculptures spanning Botero’s 70-year career.
On 6 March 2026, IMBA will also debut A Life in Fullness, billed as the world’s first immersive Botero experience. It's a 45-minute audiovisual journey narrated by Botero’s eldest son, Fernando Botero Zea. Early Bird tickets for the IMBA Theatre experiences go on sale from 30 January 2026.
