If your dream escape involves overwater villas, private pools, resident dolphins and a dedicated caviar bar, you’ll want to keep SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS on your radar. The Maldives-based hospitality group has announced plans to launch six ultra-luxury private island residential resorts across the Maldives over the next six years, with the first property (RAH GILI MALDIVES) open now and the second (DON MAAGA MALDIVES) slated for later this year.

Designed with a strong focus on sustainability, culture and design-led living, each island will have its own distinct personality rather than the cookie-cutter luxury resort approach we’ve all seen before. The brand says every project will be shaped by the natural rhythm of the Maldives while aiming for EarthCheck certification, blending high-end hospitality with a more thoughtful approach to island living.

First up is RAH GILI MALDIVES, a private island retreat in the South Malé Atoll located just 40 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. The property features 74 beachfront and overwater villas, complete with private pools, outdoor terraces and light-filled interiors. But the real flex? Every overwater villa comes with its own 18-metre waterslide. You can also expect dolphin spotting, coral conservation experiences, diving adventures, beachfront yoga and open-air movie nights, alongside a beach club designed for sunset sessions that roll into the evening.

Then there’s DON MAAGA MALDIVES, the more ultra-exclusive sibling located just 25 minutes from the airport. This one leans fully into the private residence fantasy, with enormous villas ranging from 515sqm water villas all the way up to a sprawling 9,000sqm five-bedroom private island sanctuary. Dedicated butlers, private chefs and in-villa dining are all part of the experience, while the dining lineup includes everything from Indian and Peruvian restaurants to a Champagne, Lobster & Caviar Bar and private wine tastings. Wellness facilities will include hydrotherapy pools, overwater treatment rooms and yoga pavilions, plus there’s a kids’ club and sports courts for families travelling with the crew.

For Singapore travellers already eyeing their next luxe long weekend, the Maldives remains one of the easiest paradise escapes from Changi, and SIX & SIX looks set to tap directly into that appetite for more elevated, experience-driven stays.
