The 10th Birthday Bash Lineup
BTV will return from December 28 to January 1 this year, and it’s bringing some huge international acts and local faves with it for a massive party.
On the top of the bill is pop’s newest princess Addison Rae, who recently sold out a national headline tour, and will make her Aussie festival debut. She’s joined by hip-hop veteran Kid Cudi, American hardcore-punk band Turnstile and the darling of Australia’s dance music scene (who has also conquered global success), Dom Dolla.
The festival is definitely leaning into dance music, with big international electronic artists like Ben Böhmer, Chris Stussy, I Hate Models and Kettama also on the line-up. So expect scenes at the festival to be soundtracked by plenty of big bass.
Aussie acts playing the fest include The Temper Trap, Spacey Jane, Mallrat, Miss Kaninna, as well as electronic artists Luude, Swim and Rona. We’d pay good money just to witness ‘Sweet Disposition’ live again.
BTV always brings along a nostalgia act or too, and American singer Jojo, best known for her early 2000s hits like ‘Leave (Get Out)’ will bring the singalong energy this year. Her billing is exclusive, so if you want to experience that banger in-person, you’ll have to get to the festival.
Getting There: Make It To BTV Without Losing Your Mind
Beyond the Valley returns to its lush festival grounds in regional Victoria—the perfect combination of off-grid scenery and slightly impossible to navigate without a plan.
Driving:
- Most punters drive, so expect long entry queues. Pack snacks, water, and patience. Carpooling is absolutely your best friend.
Parking & Camping:
- Depending on your ticket type, you’ll either have camp-by-car access or need to lug your gear from the carpark to the campgrounds. Bring a trolley unless you enjoy suffering.
Shuttle Buses:
- If you’re skipping the drive, festival shuttles run from Melbourne from various CBD pick-up points. They sell out early, so plan ahead.
Hot Tip:
- Arrive earlier in the day if you can—navigating tent setup in darkness is a rookie mistake not even the bravest BTV-goer should make.
What’s The Weather Really Like At BTV?
Victorian summer is unpredictable at best and chaotic at worst. Your packing list should prepare for all of the following simultaneously:
- Scorching daytime heat (think 30°C+)
- Sudden storms and the occasional mud pit situation
- Chilly nights where you’ll regret leaving that hoodie at home
Pack: sunscreen, a hat, electrolytes, a light jacket, sturdy shoes and something waterproof.
Don’t pack: those $8 Kmart thongs you think will “probably be fine.” They won’t.
What To Pack: Your BTV Outfit Survival Guide
BTV fashion sits somewhere between “camping practical” and “I refuse to let the bush stop me from throwing a fit”. Think statement pieces paired with items you’re not afraid to get dusty.
For Day:
- Breathable sets, mesh tops, sports shorts, denim cut-offs
- Glitter, body jewels and face stickers (obviously)
- Sunglasses/hats you won’t cry over losing (people love to pinch them)
- Heavy sunscreen
For Night:
- A warm jacket—trust us, you’ll thank yourself. Things chill out once the sun sets.
- Sneakers or boots that can handle mud—we'd go for a pair of dark salomons or cowboy boots.
- Something reflective or sparkly so your friends don’t lose you in the crowd—or an airtag if you're thrifty.
For NYE:
- This is when everyone goes all out. Sequins, metallics, LED fits, cowgirl-core, fairy wings, full glitter bomb—whatever makes you feel unstoppable.
Doof-Stick Tip:
- Make it tall enough to spot from across the dancefloor, sturdy enough to survive a four-day festival, and funny enough to get photographed by strangers.
