There’s no denying that Sydney is an aquatic playground filled with some of the most beautiful spots to kayak in Australia. With endless waterways, wide-open harbours, secret coves, and flat lagoons, you’d be hard-pressed to run out of places to explore with an oar (and you can check out the best places to kayak in Sydney right here).

Now, there’s a new kind of way to kayak around our glorious harbour city—and it's one that ticks all the boxes on a good conscience level. You might know of Sydney By Kayak’s award-winning kayak tours already—sunrise paddle tours that glide across Sydney Harbour like mid-morning “kayak and coffee tours” and the famed summer favourite “kayak and ice-cream” sessions. When it comes to kayaking, there’s not much these guys don’t do.

Now, for 2021, the crew has launched a whole new kayak tour, one that will see you maxing out on adventure and a good samaritan deed as well. We’re talking about a clean-up kayak tour.

The Clean-Up kayak tour is one suitable for all levels of fitness, it’s a shorter session which takes place around Sydney’s Lavender Bay. For 90-minutes you’ll be paddling around at your leisure while also scooping up any harbour rubbish you come across to help in the bid to clear Sydney’s waterways.

Like all Sydney By Kayak’s tours, you’ll get a complete kayak briefing but you’ll also be armed with buckets and litter picker sticks to collect rubbish from Sydney’s waterways.

Head here to book a clean-up kayak tour.

Now check out all the best water activities in Sydney to tick off your list this summer.
