Forget Euro summer—East Village Sydney in Darlinghurst is all about the Sydney winter, relaunching its much-loved rooftop winter garden to make the most of the season.
A highlight of wintertime in Sydney, the European winter market-themed wonderland is dripping in fairy lights, lanterns, foliage and faux fur, and features a cosy menu of warming Euro-inspired eats.
Expect iconic and warming winter dishes like German currywurst, Dutch cinnamon doughnuts, and two types of fondue: a classic four-cheese fondue spiked with liqueur (served with pickled vegetables, cured meats, crisps and bread), and a Belgian chocolate fondue with cakes, fruit, brioche and biscuits for dipping—bookings are essential for both.
As for the drinks, warm up with traditional spiced gluhwein, a smoked rum old fashioned, warm honey mead, and Spanish-style Coquito shooters with vegan eggnog, coconut, condensed milk, vanilla and cinnamon.
