Where To Watch The FIFA Women’s World Cup In Sydney

For the first time, ten stadiums across Australia and New Zealand are hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup. With the tournament taking place right on our doorstep, the atmosphere in Sydney has been electric.

Following one of the most nail-biting quarter-finals in football history, the Matildas are going through to the semi-finals and will play England on Wednesday 16 August at Stadium Australia in Sydney. This is set to be another epic match, so you definitely don't want to miss it.  

The players won’t be the only ones kicking goals—even if you don’t have tickets to watch the cup IRL, plenty of venues in Sydney are e airing the games live and loud, with awesome activities, giveaways, and great food. The FIFA Fan Festival where you can watch the FIFA Women's World Cup In SydneyFrom Thursday 20 July to Sunday 20 August, Tumbalong Park will be transformed into a buzzing hive of FIFA fun, with all the excitement of the stadium experience. FIFA Fan Festival will be airing every game on the big screen, and featuring live music, DJs and halftime entertainment—all the more reason to bring a picnic rug and settle in for a session.

The entertainment lineup has something for everyone, and we’re hanging out to see Steph Strings, who is performing on Saturday 22 July before heading on an international tour. Food offerings and deals from some favourite Sydney eateries like Josh Niland's iconic tuna cheeseburger, Kurtosh, Gelatissimo and Betty’s Burgers will keep you stated between scores, and The Playground has plenty of activities for young and old, including a speedometer to see how fast you can kick and football minigolf. Arguably Sydney’s most prominent CBD sports bar, Cheers always has you and your mates covered with a full roster of live sports and you can be sure that there will be plenty of punters there to enjoy the FIFA Women's World Cup with. Cheers is showing all games in the tournament and is open 24 hours, so if you want to hang back to either celebrate or commiserate, you can kick on as long as you like. Public outdoor screenings of key games will be popping up around the Inner West throughout the tournament. Kicking off at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, you can also catch select games at Lambert Park Sportsfield in Leichhardt and Pratten Park Ashfield. Contribute to the Inner West Wall of Support, where you can design and draw messages of support for the Matildas. Muralisto artists will be on hand to help, and the contributions will build a permanent artwork fixture in the Inner West. The first three screenings are scheduled, but keep checking the website as screening details will be updated as more qualifying matches unfold. More info is here

The Marlborough "Marly" Hotel

Newtown favourite Marly Bar will be playing all Matildas games across the entire venue. This venue tends to fill up fast, so it’s worth booking a table to make sure you and your mates can get in to enjoy the action. Where To Watch The FIFA Women's World Cup Live At Home

If you prefer to stay in and catch all the football action from your couch, Channel 7, 7Mate, 7Two, 7Plus, and Optus Sport are screening most of the World Cup games.
