Avocado season is almost upon us. And while we know you guys are well versed in smashed avo on toast, one of our favourite brunch spots has dialed up the fleshy green goodness with a full-blown eight-week avocado festival to celebrate.

According to Avocados Australia CEO John Tyas, “Australians are the highest consumers, per capita, for avocados in the English-speaking world.” Knowing just how much we love this green brunch staple, the crew at Cuckoo Callay are hosting “Kiss My Hass” to really celebrate all things avocado.

Cuckoo Callay founder Ibby Moubadder, who's also behind NourHenrietta, and Lilymu, has rallied the troops to develop a knock-out avo-themed menu packed with puns and stacks of avocado creativity. To start, you'll find pimped-out versions of avo on toast from Nour executive chef Paul Farag and Lilymu's Brendan Fong.

Farag's is called "Nour The Best Thing That Avo Happened" (cute) and involves Tahini avocado served on saj bread with chermoula scrambled eggs, sujuk, wild rocket, and herbs. Fong's is "Lily's Aving A Party" and it is basically spiced avocado served on tostadas with smoked salmon, green nahm Jim, Thai herbs, and a 63 degree poached egg.

Elsewhere on the avo menu, you'll find an avocado burger (a halved avocado becomes the bun), buttermilk avo chips, and even an "Avogato" (avocado ice cream served with a double shot of espresso).

Finally, last but not least, there is the "Marg My Words", an avocado margarita made with Reposado, jalapeno, avocado, and lime.
