The Nielsen Beach Club Is Turning Into A Slice Of The French Riviera This Week
If your weekend plans currently involve pacing between the fridge and the couch (nothing wrong with that tbh), here’s a better idea: starting tomorrow, Longchamp is taking over Shark Beach and turning The Nielsen Beach Club into a temporary slice of the Riviera.

From March 3 to March 12, La Plage Longchamp lands on Sydney sand for the first time, open to the public and leaning fully into beach-club energy. It's an effortlessly chic, less velvet-rope fashion event, more “drop by after a swim and see what’s on.”
The pop-up marks the local debut of Longchamp’s Summer 2026 collection, Catch the Parisian Wave. Expect raffia, crochet and lightweight cotton in sun-faded shades that look right at home against sandstone cliffs and that particular Nielsen Park blue. The Le Roseau Raffia and the surf-leaning Le Pliage Surf are front and centre, dialling things down from city polish to off-duty coastal.

The headline curiosity piece is a surfboard created with French workshop Shapers Club. It is wood-veneered, retro-finned and very much “display, don’t ding it.” Even if you’re not in the market for a designer board, it’s worth a look purely for the novelty of seeing a heritage Parisian house flirt with Aussie surf culture.
Beyond the branding, there’s a program of free public sessions running across the ten days. Morning meditation by the water, watercolour workshops, styling sessions, sunset mixology and live performances are all on the schedule, rotating throughout the week.
If you’d rather keep it low-effort, there’s a kiosk and refreshment cart serving drinks and snacks, plus branded beach set-ups scattered across the sand. You can swim, grab something cold, then wander through the installation without committing to a full fashionista afternoon.

It’s not every day a French luxury label sets up shop at Shark Beach. If you’re curious, it starts tomorrow and runs for just over a week. At worst, you get a swim and a snack. At best, you stumble into a sunset cocktail, a styling tip and a very Sydney-meets-Paris moment before it all packs down and disappears back into the sea breeze. Ooh, la la, indeed.
