Come As You Are: Your Guide To Sydney’s Run, Ride, Swim And Racquet Groups In 2026
Not part of a fitness club but deeply craving finding your crew? Often, it’s not the doing that’s hard, it’s the idea of doing the thing.
Most people don’t bail on joining a run club, swim squad or social sports group because they don’t want to move their bodies. They bail because starting feels awkward, and no one really talks about that part. Putting yourself out there in any capacity is always scary, but you’ll never regret showing up.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Suntory BOSS Coffee to celebrate second tries—the wobbly beginnings and not-so-picture-perfect finish lines—with a lineup of free cans at our Unofficial Run Club and Funday Pickleball around Sydney this Saturday 28 March.
So whether you’re easing back into exercise, keen to meet new mates, or just looking for an inclusive community, here’s our edit of Sydney’s most approachable run, swim, ride and racquet clubs, all welcoming and beginner-friendly.

As they put it: “We know it can be daunting to show up by yourself, but just remember that every group you see today started with someone saying hi to someone else.” Oof. Truly, this is what it’s all about.
Expect sunrise runs with front-row views of Sydney Harbour, plenty of pavement-pounding chin-wags, and a post-run coffee that’s absolutely non-negotiable. Friendly faces, even friendlier paces, and high vibes are all part of the deal.

Choose your distance (3km, 5km or 7km) and settle in for a cruisy, 40-minute trot along one of the city’s most magical stretches of coastline. Starting from Manly, lap up the fresh air and post-workout endorphins, before enjoying a well-deserved mug of joe.

In-person dating, but make it fitness-centric. The Singles Run Club is a monthly, ticketed event designed to help singles meet IRL, without the awkward small talk or endless swiping. You’ll join a relaxed, social-paced group run where mingling is highly encouraged.
Helping foster the right setting, runners are split into groups based on personality types, with hand-picked conversation starters for each lap to break the ice naturally. After the run, a social cool-down keeps things flowing. If you hit it off, the club’s cool CUPID system helps with matchmaking and swapping digits safely, so it’s all the fun of dating, minus the awkward bits.
