People choosing real Christmas trees at Pick-A-Tree in Sydney

Christmas is all about making memories—and the sense that has the strongest attachment to memory is your sense of smell. So it stands to reason that having the smell of a real, fresh Christmas tree in your house sets the scene for lasting memories, and forms the centerpiece for great times all season.

There are some sweet spots around Sydney to pick out a real Christmas tree, and some of them have added ethical benefits that you didn’t even know about that will help you spread Christmas cheer beyond just your living room. If you’re pining for a real tree this year, here are our best picks for where to snag a great one in Sydney.

A selection of fresh cut and live potted Christmas trees arrive daily from the Merlino Monterey Pine Farms to Merlino’s Christmas Trees in Sydney’s western suburbs, for easy selection and pick up.

The extra good cheer comes from the donation that Merlino’s makes every year from its profits to support the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation—over the last ten years, a contribution of $20,000 has been made to the charity, and this year your tree could help further that generous support. There are no pre-orders or bookings, so make sure you get there early to pick the perfect pine.
