Vibrant Asian fusion restaurant Fat Pomelo is a buzzy addition to Narrabeen’s beachside dining strip on Ocean Street.

Named after the pomelo—a large citrus fruit symbolising prosperity—the lively Northern Beaches restaurant promises drool-worthy food, great drinks and good fortune with every visit. 

Its gorgeous modern dining room is decked out with bold prints, textural rattan features and pops of lime green, as well as a sit-up bar area for casual drinks and a private back room fit for special occasions. 

The share-style menu is bursting with bold Southeast Asian flavours and spans cheeky bites to chubby mains, including fluffy bao buns packed with pork crackling and veganified karaage chicken, golden pot sticker gyozas, hiramasa kingfish ceviche, aromatic lamb shank curry with charred kipfler potatoes, and thick drunken noodles with smoked Wagyu beef brisket, plus lots more to love. 

The cocktail list covers sugar and spice and all things nice, including a frozen Phuket colada served in a ceramic tiki glass, a bright blue ocean spritz, a citrusy passionfruit caprioska, and a spicy marg with a tom yum twist, alongside mocktails, premium sakes, Asian beers, and wines from Australia’s top regions.

For dessert, you can’t go past the chocolate-covered sweet roti, deep-fried salted caramel ice cream or black sticky rice with pandan custard and coconut ice cream.
