Neptune’s Grotto is a Sydney CBD Italian restaurant, focusing on regional specialties from Italy’s north, by the trio behind Clam Bar, Pellegrino 2000 and (now, sadly, closed) Bistrot 916.

Where Pellegrino 2000 plays into Italy's trattoria-style cuisine, Northern Italian delights like handmade pasta feature heavily on chefs Mikey Clift and Dan Pepperell’s menu, alongside creative updates on classics like cotoletta alla panna.

“There is just nothing better than, say, a perfectly stuffed tortellini,” says Chef Dan Pepperell. “The care it takes to make… you can really taste it.”

As with all Sydney venues by Clift, Pepperell and Tyson, the drinks list is deeply curated and fun, with an exciting selection of iconic producers from Barolo and similar standout regions, plus notable Champagnes and new takes on classic Italian cocktails.

Partially tucked into the sandstone foundations under Clam Bar in Circular Quay, Neptune’s Grotto is a moody, suave space with comfortable booths and a feature marble bar.

Neptune’s Grotto opens on Tuesday 19 November, and bookings are available online now.
