One Dining is a Sydney Chinese restaurant offering yum cha, premium Chinese tea, and upgraded takes on traditional dishes among the Chinese Garden of Friendship’s bubbling waterways and bamboo forest.
Yum cha starts at $58pp for a selection of dumplings (including fairy primrose scallop dumplings and black gold squid dumplings), siu mai, pork buns, noodles and dessert, with an $88 yum cha menu adding lobster dumplings, cute porcupine buns, truffle Wagyu spring rolls and two dessert dishes.
From the a la carte menu, build a meal around the signature One Dining truffle fried rice with main dishes like pork belly slow-cooked in master stock with noodle consommé, drunken chicken, or noodles tossed with prawn and spring onion oil. Dim sum and other yum cha dishes are also available to order.
An extensive selection of desserts using Chinese flavours and formats round out the menu, with highlights like almond soup with phoenix biscuit, coconut panna cotta with Wuliangye (a brand of Chinese grain liquor) jelly, and cinnamon mochi Chinese doughnuts with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce.
The casual setting is open to the beautiful surrounding garden's willow trees, sculptures and ponds, with traditional decor elements celebrating Chinese cultural heritage—just add a chrysanthemum tea for a real escape from the hubbub of Sydney's CBD.
