The verdict

Nestled in Chatswood’s Hawker Lane, One Tea Grill is the place to head for all of your matcha cravings and to take their now infamous ramen burger for a test-run. The latter was made famous at the Night Noodles Markets and is exactly what it sounds like—a burger with a bun made entirely from ramen noodles and a beef patty filling. Vegetarians will also be pleased to know that they serve a vegetarian version as well—with a miso tofu patty instead.

On the matcha front, the options are literally endless, with classic matcha lattes on offer as well as matcha edamame (served with matcha tea salt or spicy matcha cream), popcorn curry chicken (with matcha mayo) and matcha mac ‘n’ cheese waffle. This one deserves a little bit of extra explanation, with macaroni slathered in matcha cheese, served with shichimi maple bacon, 63 degree onsen egg, fried shallots with a matcha waffle cone and matcha bread. Is this even real?
