The Grounds Coffee Factory is a massive Sydney roastery, cafe and immersive coffee education venue in the busy South Eveleigh lifestyle and dining precinct.
It’s the third venue from The Grounds Group, which is known for delivering immersive guest experiences across their cafes and restaurants in Alexandria and the Sydney CBD.
As much as as their venues are known for their beautiful interior styling, the menu is always the main event, and The Grounds Coffee Factory offers dedicated breakfast, lunch and kids menus, plus house-baked pastries delivered via a roving trolley.
Start the day with fluffy hotcakes (with added crispy bacon); the chilli scramble on toast with blistered tomatoes, chilli oil and basil; or a proper railworker’s brekkie of char-grilled sirloin steak with a fried egg, hash browns and green sauce.
As well as a huge range of coffee-based drinks and treats including affogatos and shakes, there’s breakfast cocktails (like a Matcha Colada, caramel martini, or coffee whiskey Boulevardier), fresh juices, smoothies, and house-made iced teas for those skipping the caffeine.
The lunch menu kicks in from 11.45am, offering hearty plates like a veal parmy, triple-decker club sandwich, and fried chicken burger with cabbage slaw, cheese, hot sauce, aioli and shoestring fries.
The venue is a beautiful blend of industrial elements, old-world charm and the detailed decor for which The Grounds is loved, and celebrates the site’s rich history as the railway workers’ cafeteria in its bustling industrial heyday.
As well as the cafe, The Grounds Coffee Factory offers an immersive journey into the world of coffee roasting and preparation with educational tours, coffee cuppings, and interactive workshops covering coffee techniques like alternative brewing methods and latte art.
