We were tempted to title this thing ‘fragrance news’ given the downpour of new scents.

But seriously, we never thought we’d cover two perfumes inspired by clouds and rain in one go.

In other news, we’ve found delicious lip glosses and body products inspired by our favourite desserts.

Here's this month's pickings of the best beauty news in Aotearoa.

Give Us The Gloss

MECCA MAX’s Boss Gloss | $25

Good news for anyone going through both a lip gloss and a mocha-toned makeup phase: MECCA MAX’s Boss Gloss has been tweaked with 12 totally new shades.

They’re heavy on the chocolate, caramel and black-forest kinda tones. Speaking of rich, the formula is designed to be sheer, with many are on the crème side. Sparkles are finally-milled, and the applicator has perhaps one of the sharpest tips we’ve seen.

If you’re going to go for one (hard-pressed, they’re a reasonable $25 a pop) make it the ‘Aura:’ a dusty-rose with an iridescent tinge that’s gotta be universally flattering.

London Calling

Floris Eau De Parfum and Toilette | $379.99

Breaking fragrance news, Floris London is now here in Aotearoa—and you can pick it up during your next hair-tie and lipstick swoop.

Everyone say thank you to Life Pharmacy, the exclusive New Zealand retailers, who have brought oodles of Floris’ classic Eau De Toilette and Parfums online and in-store around the country. Plus, they even have the tiny 10ml tubes for you blind-buyers out there. Oh, and price-wise, they basically retail at their pounds-to-NZD conversion isn’t too pinchy (thank the heavens).

The selection is balanced, led mostly by florals and woody blends. White Rose is our favourite; a gutsy floral and airy eau-de-toilette. Grounded in iris, it’s Turkish Delight wrapped in a white floral organza

Simplified Lips

Colour Cult Lipstick & Lip Liner Duo | $59

Napoleon Perdis Lipstick

Meet the latest iconic duo from Napoleon Perdis that’s fast becoming a staple in our morning routine. A two-step lip kit designed for long wear and precision, the lipstick and liner combo sculpts, defines and conditions, leaving your pout looking full and flawless.

Offered up in a collection of shades—from a low-key rose pink to full-on cherry red—the lip liner glides on to trace, shape and contour the lips (and minimise feathering), while the lippy gives you full-coverage pigment with a satiny-smooth finish. With a conditioning formula that nourishes with every wear, these two lifesavers are now available at Napoleon Perdis for just $59.

Lift The Veil

Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask | $159

When they said that icy blue would be everywhere in 2026, we weren’t banking on it being in our skincare. Yet here we are, obsessed with Raeso’s powdery blue Lunar Veil Chrono-Active Sleep Mask and the magic it works.

Except it isn’t really magic. Rather, a serious understanding of how our skin actually works at night. The mask has a three-phase delivery system that lets the exfoliating actives and hydrating marine and botanic extracts seep into your skin at the time your skin actually needs it. There’s manuka honey, local black fern and green tea, alongside ferments, time-release mandelic acid and oh so many more.

It’s a real all-rounder, this Lunar Veil: offering a boosted barrier, a balanced microbiome, radiance and smoother skin.

Oh, and it smells like a day spa. Rejuvenation at its finest.

Head In The Clouds

Future Society Cloud Reverie Fragrance | $164

We thought we’d seen it all when it comes to fragrance inspirations and source, but Future Society’s latest drop all started with gathering actual, living microbes from clouds (!).

Yep, they translated their catch into 57 scent molecules and built an entire fragrance—Cloud Reverie—from it. Five years later, we get the joy of spritzing an airy, vanilla and iris-tinged, sparkling aquatic scent, and swanning around with smugly knowing that we’re wearing a piece of the sky.

Fit For A Princess

Flamingo Estate Prinsesstårta Milk Bar Soap | $70

You’ll never hear us keep quiet on princess tart. Be it in cake, candle, or now bar soap form. More than mere soap, Flamingo Estate’s Prinsesstårta take is a frothy, triple-milled Milk Bar

Just like the candle, the scent is a pinch gourmand, creamy and grounded in amber spice. It’s perhaps the only custard slice and marzipan canape you won’t have to clean up from.

Out Of This World Shine

Haus Labs Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer | $50

How does one make a lip product both lacquered and transfer-proof? We don’t quite know, but we’re also not surprised that Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs made it happen.

The colours are rich, the finish is glossy. Three of the Atomic Lip Shake shades are even considered sheer—but trust us, still hold a fair amount of pigment.

Let It Rain

Uni Rain Water-Based Perfume | $150

It’s an aquatic fragrance, but far from salty, herby or marine-tinged. Nope, Uni’s latest, Rain Water-Based Perfume is 1) water based and 2) designed specifically to smell like rain.

Yep, the ‘Rain Notes’ are one of the actual top notes, sitting alongside grapefruit and pollen. Fresh. Then, oakmoss, lilac, peony, and patchouli kick in for a musky impression.

Sweet As Pie

LUSH Banoffee | From $18

There are zero guesses as to what LUSH’s Banoffee range smells like, but let us reassure you, its scent profile reads like an ingredients list. Buttery biscuit base, frothy cream, carmelised and ripe bananas—it’s a dead-ringer for our favourite pie.

Don’t believe us? Head to LUSH’s spiffy new flagship store in Sylvia Park for a sniff. There’s a body spray and a body wash, but, like all good sweet things, they’re here for a good time not a long time.

Dulesé Natural Refillable Deodorant

We've seriously been putting some thought into what we put in (and on) our bodies right now when it comes to beauty and toxins, so when we heard about this new NZ-based brand that was swarming Aussie shores, we were rather excited. Natural deodorant used to get a bad wrap, but with the ingredient-focused, environmental-lovin’ likes of Dulesé, you’re left feeling fresh and gorg the entire busy day through. Not only has it scored a ton of wellness noms over the ditch, but it also maintains a stellar 4.9 star rating. Trust us, you’ll be damn glad you made the switch.

Some Fruit To Boot

Image credit: Ashley & Co | Supplied

The news we’ve all been waiting for: Bonberry—Ashley & Co’s fruity, resinous and fabulous scent—is no longer a limited edition confection.

This Mother’s Day, they’re more than a mere fleeting fragrance. Instead, the scent is permanently rolled out into all of our favourite Ashley & Co products: candles, reed diffusers, washes, lotions and even in a brand-spanking new carded perfume

We’d say that this means we won’t be doing any more hoarding of this scent. Buuuut it’s so hypnotic, we can’t quite guarantee that.

Everyone Wants This Lip Combo

The Runway Red Lip Duo | $33

Image credit: MECCA MAX | Supplied

We’ll spare you the “ground-breaking,” and “that’s all” puns, and get straight to the point: MECCA MAX has brought out the perfect red to commemorate Devil Wears Prada 2.

Hark your mind back to the first film. Remember Andie’s pointed, perfectly crimson red lip in Paris? We searched high and low back across slow-loading Google back in the day to find it, and now, it’s here in a liner and lipstick combo.

The Runway Red Lip Duo, ladies and gents. The (limited edition) red to end all reds.

A Beauty Sleep Treat

San Margo’s Increíble Beauty Sleep Hot Chocolate | $59

Image credit: San Margo | Website

When a potion sounds like it’s straight out of a fairytale, it’s surely a good sign. San Margo’s latest creation, a functional hot choccie, is yours to pre-order.

Alongside being a touch decadent, the Increíble Beauty Sleep got everything we love-slash-need from our functional bevvies: it’s keto-friendly, paleo-friendly, has plenty of collagen and it won’t disrupt hormones (a key pillar of everything San Margo does).

We’ve Got The Gloss

Fara Homidi Beauty’s Soft Glass Lip Plumping Oil | $90

A huge doe-foot applicator? A gloriously gloopy (but not sticky) texture? A melted-candy-like colour? A petite, chubby little pocket-friendly tube? A barrier-soothing and plumping function?

Be STILL our beating, beauty-loving hearts.

Fara Homidi Beauty’s Soft Glass Lip Plumping Oil has landed at MECCA. This is your cue to get your fix before

Balmy Nights

Lemon & Beaker Deep Cleansing Balm | $30

Image credit: Lemon & Beaker | Supplied

We’re obsessed with anything that Lemon & Beaker puts into a yellow pottle (ahem, their Vitamin C serum anyone?)

The latest, a Deep Cleansing Balm, is proof in the pudding—a 20+ Manuka-infused, makeup-dissolving and smoothly-gliding pudding, that is. We hear this baby sells out every-time, so hop to it, skincare buff.

A Juicy Secret

Car Air Freshener | $13

Image credit: Juicy Couture | Supplied

Not strictly beauty news, but it’s beauty for our cars and scent receptacles. So technically, this counts.

Juicy Couture has confected two car fragrances, and they’re now exclusively available at Supercheap Auto. Not what we had on our 2026 bingo cards—nor a sentence we thought we’d ever say—but you bet your bottom 13 dollars that they’ll be swinging and glistening from our windmirrors in no time.

There’s Candyfloss and Wildberry to choose between in your next Supercheap-slash-beauty run.

Mimétique Desire

Mimétique Ctrl Eye Cream | $94

Right, well, we think we’ve found our new favourite eye cream.

Mimétique Ctrl Eye Cream is the all-rounder we want in an eye cream—especially for daytime wear. It spreads effortlessly, the absorption is next level and it seems to instantly soothe out the finer lines around our eyes. A big win.

It’s one of those creams that has your under-eye area reflecting just enough light to look fresh and awake (as the formulation’s Avena Sativa and natural Mica pigments promise) without looking like it collected the last of nights’ glimmery eyeshadow.

Instant gratification and long-term heavy lifting? Oh, you’ll be finding the Ctrl Eye Cream in our cabinets for years to come.

Ready For This Jelly

GHD Jelly Collection |Price Varies

Perhaps the most playful we’ve ever seen GHD, their limited-edition Jelly Collection has us licking display-windows.

All of our GHD favourites—the wide Chronos Max, brush-clad Duet Blowdry and even the Chronos Curve Max Wand for waves—have, along with their heat-proof cases, been dipped in shades straight out of a gum-ball machine.

They’ve been designed to add a touch peppy touch to this time of year. What better way to do that, than with something one reaches for on the regular?

But, like anything that fills sugary shop-front: there’s a limited amount of each. Hop to it, glamazons.

Slick To It

Ceremonia Pequi Flyaway Gel

This one's for the folk who simply can’t fathom piling on a bunch of hair products before you leave the house. Three potion-strong blow-dry routine? Nope, it’s a snappy slick-and-go operation with Ceremonia’s Pequi Flyaway Gel

Obvi, it’s a life-saver for slick-back-bun devotees. But it’s great for those days where you get an unexpected rainshower or your hair-down style needs a little slicking at the ends or roots.

Plus, it’s got quite the fruity yet woody scent (thank you Brazilian Pequi Oil,) so we guess it could double as a perfume?

Pocket Full Of Sunshine

Sol Rio Jelly Perfume Balm Cheirosa $51

Visualise everything you like from a summertime holiday: billowing clothes, the sun peeping in through linen curtains, fire from a restaurant’s open kitchen, baskets of fresh fruit.

Sol Rio’s Jelly Perfume Balm in Cheirosa is just that. It’s one of those fragrances that stays the same on the skin as in the bottle (well, in this case, jelly stick).

Contrary to its glassy, luminous texture, this baby absorbs instantly, leaving only its kiss of jasmine, almond, pistachio and sandalwooded salted caramel.

Sun-Drenched Suds

Uni Ischia Sunset Plush Marine Shower Oil | $64

Here’s another sun-soaked trip to take without leaving your flat: step into your shower, sud up with Uni’s Plush Marine Shower Oil in Ischia Sunset and be awash (sorry, we had to) with visions of a breezy, golden, beachside abode—complete with fresh fruit and warming white wine.

It’s one of those fragrances that works for every taste. It's warm yet clean, curious but comfy, and blends together woody, green and sunshine-filled without being too much.

Fixer Upper

MAC Studio Fix 24hr Colour Correctors | $37

Easily one of the most inclusive and flexible colour correctors out there, MAC’s Studio Fix 24hr Colour Correctors are something special.

There’s longwear, sure, alongside our classic shades like mint green, peach and yellow. However, it’s the inclusion of orange—a dark spot corrector formulated for deep skin tones—along with the under-tone neutralising ‘Violet’ creation that has caught our eyes.

Home run, MAC, home run.

Making Resolutions

Aesop Resolute Facial Concentrate | $155

Aesop’s very first retinoid is here, and it’s already moseyed to the top of our holy grail skincare list.

But can you blame us? The Resolute Facial Concentrate has the most lucid, supple and spreadable texture and absorbs like a dream.

The hero ingredient is, of course, a skin-supportive Retinoid (specifically Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate—a stable group of Vitamin A derivatives) with squalene and cedar atlas there to support the skin’s barrier, hydration, and overall sense of comfort.

Scent-wise, it’s a home-run too. It’s sunny and tart, a little aquatic, but grounded with a woody base.

Meet You On The Quad

In A Good Light Illuminating Palette | $104

Fun fact, this compact shuts with the same, satisfying snap of a chunky 2000’s flip phone.

Packaging notes aside, the In A Good Light Illuminating Palette holds the only four powders you’d ever need for your face: four shades to highlight, diffuse, flush, illuminate and contour.

There’s three colour families, each inspired by the natural colour-stories of daylight—Dusk Skies, First Sunlight and Golden Hour—covering cool, olive and warm tones. Among the pearly and flushed shades, each one of the quads has a dedicated ‘blurring’ powder in the mix.

The shades are ruddy buildable, so consider this a stand-in for an eyeshadow palette too.

Bubble It Up

Dyson Amino™ leave-in scalp bubble treatment | $95

We owe Dyson a wee apology. We didn’t think it was possible for a leave-in scalp treatment to leave zero film on our roots. But here we are with egg on our face and squeaky-clean, light, and nourished scalps.

True to its name, Dyson's new Amino leave-in scalp bubble treatment pumps out in a super-light foam, before soaking right into your scalp as a serum. No grease, no film, no sign of any product touching your scalp.

It’s a bit of an all-in-one nourisher: there's a blend of amino acids, caffeine and niacinamide, plus some. All this to (in our opinion, successfully) reduce the un-holy hair trinity: hair loss, oil, and flakes.

The Fan Club

MECCA MAX Fangirl Panoramic Tubing Mascara | $33

Image credit: MECCA MAX | Supplied

Mecca Max’s new beauty brainchild is a tubing mascara where the wand does all the work.

Don’t be fooled by her petite stature: her line of tall, flexi, bristles grabs each lash to fan it out by the base. Then, the grooves of the metal side (basically, most of the wand) licks each lash with a coat of polymer fibre-filled mascara film.

It’s just the one shade for the Fangirl Panoramic Tubing Mascara—a glossy black finish—but who needs anything else when our lashes are the main attraction?

Balmy Days

MALIN+GOETZ All-Purpose Moisture Balm | $39

Image credit: Malin + Goetz | Supplied

A new all-purpose balm is here. By one of our favourite, all-rounder brands, Malin + Goetz, no less. Ain’t that fitting?

It has a whopping 17 botanicals and butters in the blend—and probably just as many uses. It soothes rough elbows, keeps itches and stings at bay, smooths fly-away hair or chapped cuticles and lips.

It’s on the filmy end of the texture spectrum. But make no mistake, it fully absorbs after a fair few minutes and a little bit goes a long way. Plus, it smells like a day spa, and isn’t that restorative in itself?

Fill Us In

Revlon PhotoReady Lift & Fill Skin Tint | $39.99

Half make-up, half-skincare, Revlon’s newest ain’t just a tint or skin burring tool. Nope, it’s been designed to make your pores and fine-lines look filled-in and smooth (something that it works at, over time) all while giving you a dash of natural colour.

Look closely at the PhotoReady Lift & Fill Skin Tint and you’ll see it’s got the most subtle little shimmer to it. Smooth it across your skin, and you won’t be any wiser. You’ll just be smitten with your perfectly radiant, smoother complexion.

The Wind Down Ritual

Go-To Skincare | $132

If you can't remember the last time you had a decent sleep, you *need* The Wind Down Ritual in your life, stat. Kick off an hour before beddy byes with the blissful Easy Breezy Magneezy berry powder loaded with magnesium and all the good stuff to help that tension start to release, set the mood with the Things Will Calm Down Now pillow and room spray (which smells like a big heavenly cloud might we add), then lather up our fave Night Shift Body Butter on your feet, heels and whole body to really ensure yourself a decadent, glorious sleep. Our editor's been using all three as a precious little wind down ritual for about a week, and has gratefully slept more deeply than she has in what feels like forever.

An Apple A Day

Dermal Therapy | Lip Balm Stick Green Apple

Image Credit: Dermal Therapy | Website

The way we jumped for joy when we saw that apple joins Dermal Therapy’s line of Lip Balm Stick flavours.

Call it a fixation on early 2000’s fragrance or martini flavours, but it’s, literally, refreshing to see this tangy note back. And in such a practical form, no less: this bad boy delivers immediate hydration and smoothness, while helping support the skin barrier function.
