K-Pop Phenomenon BTS Is Heading To Australia In 2027
Clear your calendar, charge your light stick and get your annual leave sorted. BTS is officially coming back to Australia.
After an eight year wait and a nearly four year pause while all seven members completed mandatory military service, the K-pop supergroup is returning to the world stage with a genuinely enormous 79-date tour. Massive.

When Is BTS Touring Australia?
The tour kicks off in April and will snake its way through North America, South America, Asia, Europe and, blessedly, Australia, with shows running right through to 2027. For Aussie ARMY (the official BTS fan base), the dates to lock in now are Melbourne on February 12 and 13, 2027, followed by Sydney on February 20 and 21, 2027.
Where Can I Get BTS Tickets?
Venue details and ticketing info are still under wraps, but fans can jump on a wait list for updates. Translation: this is your warning to get organised early, because these tickets will evaporate.
This marks BTS’ first Australian visit since their Wings tour in 2017. Their last headline run, Permission to Dance on Stage in 2021–2022, wrapped just before the group stepped back to fulfil military service, putting a pause on one of the biggest pop acts of the last decade.
Who Actually Are BTS?
If you need a quick refresher (or want ammo for your group chat debates), BTS aka Bangtan Sonyeondan, which translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts, debuted in 2013 with 2 Cool 4 Skool. They released three full-length albums before breaking through globally with Wings in 2016, cementing their status as a full-blown cultural phenomenon rather than just chart-toppers.
Their most recent album, Proof, released in 2022, hit number one in 18 countries and has clocked roughly 16.7 billion streams worldwide, which is… a number so big it makes us feel a bit dizzy.
Does BTS Have A New Album?
Adding extra fuel to the hype, BTS’ agent has confirmed a brand new album is landing on March 20, with the title still a mystery. New music, a world tour, and Australia back on the itinerary? 2027 is sorted.
In the meantime, there's plenty of live music action to keep you busy. Plan your Laneway Festival day out right.
