There’s something about a good Christmas movie that brings out your inner kid—even if you’re just here for the snacks and the nostalgia. Whether it’s Home Alone marathons, questionable stop-motion classics or shiny new Netflix animations, festive films are basically a December rite of passage.

And while we’ve all got our old favourites (The Grinch, we’re looking at you), 2025 has delivered some seriously fun new releases—plus a few underrated gems worth adding to your family movie night rotation. So grab the popcorn (and maybe a candy cane or three), dim the fairy lights, and queue up the best Christmas movies for kids.

Merry Little Batman

Merry Little Batman sees is a brand new Christmas superhero animation. After Damian Wayne is left alone on Christmas Eve, he transforms into “Little Batman” and goes on a mission to save Gotham City from supervillains. 

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever

Disney+

The seventh installment in the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid film series, this upcoming release sees Greg Heffley accidentally damage a snowplow while building a snowman. Worried that he won’t get the new video game console he wants for Christmas, Greg then gets snowed in with his family. 

The Claus Family 3

The Claus Family is back in this third installment of the festive franchise, and this time, they're facing their biggest holiday challenge yet. The movie follows the youngest Claus sibling, Noor, as she finds out about their grandpa’s double life and wants to join her family’s secret gift-giving business.

When Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) finds himself stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, he discovers an unlikely ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones) and a mysterious toy maker named Klaus (J.K. Simmons). 

Action Pack Saves Christmas

Netflix’s 'Action Pack' series unloaded a Christmas special last year. It’s a 27-minute holiday-themed spinoff, where the gang teams up with Santa to fend off Teddy Von Taker, who plots to steal the Christmas cheer from their town.

A Boy Called Christmas

A Boy Called Christmas is about exactly that. It follows the tale of a young boy’s adventure in the snow to find a fabled village of elves. Along with his reindeer Blitzen (and loyal pet mouse), he sets out to meet his magical and hilarious destiny.

In this stop-motion short made by Wallce And Gromit makers Aardman Animations, Gillian Anderson and Richard E. Grant voice-star in a tale about a bird, raised by mice, about discovering where she belongs at Christmas time. 

Shaun The Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas

In this short but magical stop-motion animation, Shaun The Sheep sets out on another goofy adventure with the rest of his flock. The 30-minute Christmas special sees Shaun’s festive season turn to dismay when a farmhouse raid sees his cousin Timmy go missing.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey

A pure dose of Christmas wonder. Bursting with colour, song, and spectacle, Jingle Jangle follows a young girl who helps her inventor grandfather rediscover the joy of creating—and believing. Gorgeously made and genuinely uplifting, this is one of those films you’ll want to rewatch every year.
