Ever since she wore what can only be reasonably described as a croissant on her back at the Mighty Hoopla festival in Bondi, the internet has been abuzz with Delta Goodrem Eurovision rumours. And, as of this week, the fabulously talented and world-famous songstress has finally confirmed that she will be our Aussie entry for Eurovision 2026.

So, whether you’re a die-hard Delta fan or just super enthusiastic about all things Eurovision, here’s everything you need to know about Eurovision 2026.

OK, so we’re about as far away from Europe as one could possibly be while still remaining on Planet Earth. But that hasn’t stopped us from competing in Eurovision since 2015.

Basically, SBS has been a huge supporter of Eurovision for decades, and the brilliantly bat-crap-crazy spectacle is super popular with Australian audiences (go figure). So, in 2015, the European Broadcasting Union invited Australia to compete as a wildcard entry, and it’s been going gangbusters ever since. Essentially, it’s a wonderfully camp, inclusive, and ‘more the merrier’ kind of vibe (oh, and the participation fee probably helps, too).

When Is Eurovision 2026 Happening?

Eurovision 2026–the 70th Eurovision Song Contest–will take place in Vienna. The First Semi-Final is on Tuesday 12 May, the Second Semi-Final is on Thursday 14 May, and the Grand Final is on Saturday 16 May. If you’re only interested in Australia, we’re in the Second Semi-Final.

And, of course, this is all on Austrian time. So if you’re planning on watching Eurovision 2026 live in Australia, we’re talking the early hours of 13, 15 and 17 May 2026. 9pm CET would land at 7am AEDT.

Australia’s 2026 entry for Eurovision is called Eclipse. It’s your classic upbeat Eurovision-style ballad with some big old notes and background beats that would lend well to a club remix on the Eurovision circuit. The video’s got plenty of strobe lighting and shiny dress swinging… so you can probably imagine what the staging’s going to be like.
