Virgin Australia just dropped the ultimate overnighter, so ping the crew and prepare yourselves for an adventure that’ll have you saying “remember that time when we…” for actual years to come. It’s called the Last Flight Club and it involves a one-night only experience flying Sydneysiders to Melbourne and back again before breakfast. The best bit? You get a big old dollop of free food, sport and live music between check-ins.
Yep, you heard it right. This is a trip for night owls and thrill-seekers who want to go all-in on adventuring after dark. There’s no hotel. No sleep. Just a whole load of fun. Virgin Australia has gone big with this one, teaming up with Visit Victoria to bring you an absolutely banging itinerary.

“Last Flight Club is about showing what’s possible when you turn a regular flight into something extraordinary,” says Virgin Australia Chief Marketing Officer, Libby Minogue teases. “With Virgin Australia, it’s not just about the destination—it’s about how we help travellers create memorable moments along the way.”
So what exactly is involved? First up, you need to book yourselves a seat on the 8.30pm Sydney to Melbourne Virgin Australia flight (VA892), departing on Thursday August 7. You also need to book a seat on the Melbourne to Sydney flight (VA803) departing the next day at 6am. Then you fill out this registration form, and prepare to experience a whole heap of epic freebies.

The party kicks off as soon as you take to the air, with lols and entertainment from host and comedian Ben Lomas. Once you arrive at Melbourne airport, the festivities continue with a private DJ set by Client Liaison at the Virgin Australia airport lounge.
Next up? A guided Lego Star Wars tour at the Melbourne Museum and snacks from the Star Wars Cafe that’ll have you posting to Insta stat. Then it’s off to the Melbourne Supper Club where you can feast on top-draw Victorian food and wine, and learn how to make the perfect martini with the Melbourne Gin Company along the way.

And the night doesn’t even stop there. You’ll head to Melbourne Cricket Ground where you’ll meet AFL legend Anthony “Kouta” Koutoufides and AFLW star Darcy Vescio, pose with the AFLW and AFL Premiership trophies and even have a kickabout on the field.
All that, before finally returning on the first flight back to Sydney with full hearts and a whole lotta stories to tell.
