Your fixer upper just got a whole lot easier to manage with a brand-new megastore for renovation projects coming to Brisbane Airport’s Skygate precinct.

The Build and Design Centre is relocating from its existing tenancy in South Brisbane to the northside, where it will be home to thousands of building products all under one roof. The purpose-built facility is sprawled across two levels that roughly equal the size of three Olympic swimming pools—meaning there’s plenty to get your hands on from kitchen and bathroom fixtures, cabinetry and benchtops, cladding, concrete, bricks, flooring and more.

The new Build and Design Centre will feature more than 70 showrooms in one centralised space so you can get inspired, plan and coordinate an entire project without the fuss. There’ll also be a wide variety of leading home and building brands to shop from and ample parking thanks to the established Skygate precinct—which recently welcomed a massive entertainment precinct in Landers Pocket

“The Build & Design Centre is set to become a key destination for Brisbane’s growing home improvement market, offering an efficient and customer-centric way to plan and complete projects of any scale,” said Brisbane Airport Executive General Manager Commercial Scott Norris. “This hub will bring industry together in one convenient location, changing the way Queenslanders build and renovate.”

And if you, like me, don’t have renovation plans on the horizon, you still might enjoy strolling through the display rooms that’s set to be the equivalent of a Pinterest scroll in real life.

The Build & Design Centre is set to open in early 2027.
