Royal Oak just got a whole lot more groovy, baby, yeah! Oak Eatery has arrived and it is the eatery locals have been waiting for.

Brought to us by the same brilliant minds as the beloved Cafe Mont, their latest joint is sweeter and bigger, but every bit as awesome.

Here’s where things get interesting—this beaut cafe is hidden away on the upper level of the Royal Oak  Shopping Mall! Who would have thunk it?

Inside you’ll be greeted by a cabinet of all the sweet stuff and an even sweeter team. Joshua Kim was keen to spread his foodie skills to lucky ‘burb Royal Oak. With a little something for the whole family, kids will be thrilled to find a dedicated play area and plenty of sweet treats to keep them occupied.

The menu is the work of foodie extraordinaire and expert chef, Yong Sang. We know you won’t be left disappointed. Featuring all the favourites from Cafe Mont, Oak Eatery has allowed Yong to expand his talents even further and serve up masterpieces worth raving about.

Our top pick is the smooth and indulgent Creamy Mixed Mushroom. Featuring seasonal mushrooms alongside tomatoes, pancetta, poached egg and toasted bread it’s the perfect winter warmer.

If, like us, you’re a sucker for anything pork belly, look no further than the sensational Red Wine Marinated Pork Belly. Coated with a fiery Korean chili jam, served alongside exquisite lime and coconut rice, sauté veggies and a wicked ginger mayo coleslaw, this bad boy is a winner in our books. Another must-try is the hearty grilled lamb loin. A special something for meat lovers out there, the dish is based on a traditional curry. Texture rich, it features orange jewelled jasmine and wild rice, a moreish coconut curry, sauté veggies and crème fraîche. You know it’s sure to hit the spot!

They even cater for our vegan pals! The out-of-this-world zucchini and chickpea loaf is a food of the gods. With beetroot hummus, seasonal sauté veggies, crunchy puffy rice noodle topped with pistachio dukkah and coconut dressing it’s a foodgasmic adventure.

It wouldn’t be Oak Eatery of course, without a stunning cabinet from the dynamic duo twins Sunny and Jinny. Having Mt. Eden fall in love with their sweet treats, they’ve added an extra dash of sweetness to Royal Oak also. Our top pick is the pistachio cakes, decadent and rave-worthy, they’re sure to be the talk of the town.

Ever expanding on the dream, owner Joshua has been busier than ever, finding time to serve up his very own unique blend of java, served piping hot daily. Not a caffeine fiend (how DO you do it?!) not to worry, Oak Eatery have you covered with a range of Karma Colas and house-made smoothies are coming soon.

So, if you’ve been on the hunt for your next brunch, lunch, or even birthday party spot, look no further than  Oak Eatery, for a sweet slice of treats, family fun and food-tastic times.
