You love cheese. You love wine. So you're absolutely going to want to spend two hours sampling some of Australia's finest of both at the next night of wine, cheese and bubbles taking over the Treasury Hotel and Courtyard this month, this time with New Zealand wine at the helm.
For one night, all the nooks and corners of the ground floor of the hotel will be overflowing with wine tasting stations where you can sip your way through a divine selection of New Zealand red, white and sparkling wines from producers like Cloudy Bay, Mud House, Craggy Range and Squealing Pig. The fun will continue all the way out into the Treasury Hotel's secret courtyard, known only to those lucky few who've been to an event at the hotel before.
But you can’t have wine without cheese (well, I mean, you can but what’d be the point) which is why there will also be feasting stations loaded up with a smorgasbord of lactic delights, dips, breads and miscellaneous antipasto party starters, as well as roaming canapes to chase down.
As an ambient bonus, while you’re getting suitably fed and watered, limber up to the live entertainment and ring in the extra long weekend right. Oh, did we not mention? It's all going down on Friday 27 August, so you've got the long weekend off to nurse your sore head. Tickets are $50, including all those wine and cheese samples, and you can nab them here.
Where: Treasury Hotel Courtyard, entry via George Street
When: 5.30pm–7.30pm, Friday 27 August
