If you’ve been looking for something different to do after dark in the city, we have excellent news because Brisbane's most magical luminary display is back. That’s right, The Enchanted Garden, presented by Royal Caribbean, returns this 23 November to transform Roma Street Parkland into a light-filled playground for four dazzling weeks.
Spanning a whopping 22,000 square metres, meander your way through a glittering sea of immersive light installations, high-powered lasers, custom audio and holograms that will ignite all of your senses.
As always, this year’s show comes with a truly unique storyline—following a mischievous possum, who accidentally shatters the crystalline heart of The Enchanted Garden’s Mystic Island, sending ripples of imbalance across the region. Your mission? Traverse the glittering garden and help the possum and his mates collect the crystal shards and restore the island's harmony.
Held nightly from 23 November to 20 December, sessions begin every 15 minutes, kicking off at 6:30pm, with the final session taking place at 9:15pm. There are also low sensory sessions available— just check the event's website for all the deets.
Stay Up Late
If you’re looking for something romantic to do with your love, or want to round up your mates for a different kind of night out, opt for one of their ‘Up Late’ sessions from 8:30pm onwards when the kiddies and families have departed. Post light-viewing you’re in the heart of the city—the perfect place to kick on for a tipple at one of the many nearby bars.
Light Up Your Go-To Dinner And Drinks Date Nights
Once you’ve navigated your way through the shimmering rainforest, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite. Fortunately there’s a selection of tasty food trucks on offer slinging everything from scoops of gelato to international eats. And if you really want to make a night of it, there’s a bar onsite that’s open from 5pm. Even better, this section is also open to the public so you can return anytime during The Enchanted Garden’s four-week run.
But perhaps one of our favourite things about The Enchanted Garden? It’s an awesome night out that won’t break the bank. Tickets are just $9 per person for adults (aged 13 years and older), $7 per person for kids (aged 3-12), while children aged 2 and under are free. Bonus —all tickets include free public transport for the night of their session. That’s more coin for the food trucks.
As always, the dazzling light show will be in high demand so be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time as you can’t purchase on the ground at the event.
