ANZAC Day is around the corner and the public holiday just wouldn’t be complete without a game or two of two-up in celebration of our honoured diggers. Popularised by Australian soldiers during World War I, two-up has continued to be a firm tradition in ANZAC Day festivities nationwide.

Want to try your hand? Here are the pubs in Brisbane putting on a traditional game of two-up this ANZAC Day:

Howard Smith Wharves

5 Boundary St, Brisbane City

Howard Smith Wharves is joining the two-up game this ANZAC Day, while supporting and honouring veterans in the community with historic vehicle displays, a raffle with amazing prizes, and donations raising funds for City-New Farm RSL. After a hearty lunch from one of the venues, all of which will be open for the day, you can head to the Felons Chipper Lawn for a game of two-up from 12pm to 4pm, then stay for live music from 4pm at Felons Barrel Hall.

Regatta Hotel

543 Coronation Dr, Toowong

Brews and bites are the name of the game when it comes to ANZAC Day at Regatta Hotel, but two-up is definitely also on the agenda. Opening from 6:30am for all your post-dawn service feed needs, they'll be dishing up barista-made coffee and brekky muffins in the morning before switching to hearty favourites like sausage rolls and parmi burgers. As for two-up, that kicks off from 1pm.

Keep an eye out for donation tins raising funds for RSL Queensland, plus live music will ease you into the evening from 4pm to 8pm.

The Jubilee Hotel will be swinging doors open from 12pm on Anzac Day, with two-up in the courtyard from 2pm. Their restaurant menu will also be available, so you can sink your teeth into pizza and pub classics in between rounds.

It's Landers Pocket's first ANZAC Day since opening at the tail-end of last year, and they're getting in on the action with two-up from 1pm. The precinct will be open from 10am, so you can enjoy a meal and a frothy one at 4 Pines in the alfresco, beer garden or restaurant.
