First there was the Cairns tourism vouchers to spend on thrilling holiday experiences in Tropical North Queensland and now, in an effort to get people exploring our great state, the government has announced they’ll be handing out more vouchers, this time for Greater Brisbane and the Whitsundays.
For the Greater Brisbane area, there’s 30,000 vouchers up for grabs that can be used to score 50% off tours, attractions and best of all, accommodation, up to the value of $100. If you manage to get your hands on one, you can use it across Brisbane, the Scenic Rim, Moreton Bay, Redlands Coast, Somerset, Logan and Ipswich right up until 15 August (though you’ll need to book before 4 June). Hellooo half-price cosy weekend away in a cabin in the mountains somewhere.
If it’s the Whitsundays you’re hoping to hit, the maximum voucher value ups to $200, which can be used to get 50% off eligible tourism experiences—think sailing trips, helicopter rides and reef dives. The catch is that you will have to be in the Whitsundays between 4 May and 30 June this year, but frankly, it sounds like a pretty good reason to plan a trip to us. There’ll only be 6,000 vouchers though, so maybe don’t go planning that baller holiday just yet.
Just like last time, the holiday vouchers will be handed out in a random draw, and you’ll need to register in advance. Registrations for Brisbane Holiday dollars open up on Tuesday 27 April at 12pm, and you can throw your name in the ring here until midnight on 30 April. Details on how to get your hands on the Whitsundays vouchers will be coming on 4 May, and you can sign up to the first to know here.
