War is coming. Are you ready for it? The highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off, the HBO Original series House of the Dragon, is coming back on 22 June after almost two years. As the Dance of Dragons nears, we’ve been on a mega binge of rewatching seasons one and two and frame-by-frame analysis of the official season three trailer to bring you the ultimate download on what to expect in season three.

Plus, we have all the details on the free, immersive and limited-time experience that’s taking over Sydney’s Wynyard Park and tunnels for two days only—The Dragon's Lair.

The Dragon’s Lair Fan Experience

Do you have the ancient Valyrian blood running through your veins? Dare to descend into fire and darkness? To celebrate the upcoming season of House of the Dragon, HBO Max is putting on quite possibly the coolest free fan experience, The Dragon's Lair, at Wynyard Park and the abandoned tunnels beneath Wynyard Station from 19-20 June. It’s calling all potential dragon seeds to step out of Sydney and into the world of Westeros to see if they have what it takes to claim a dragon.

The experience will take you through guarded, hidden passages, on a journey fit only for those who dare. You'll be taken to the depths of The Dragon's Lair, where you’re challenged to prove your worth as partner or relegated as prey—only The Dragon can decide.

When we say immersive, we mean immersive. Epic soundscapes, the smell of smoke and the heat of dragon’s fire on your skin. Step past huge chain collars and bleached bones as you explore the subterranean tunnels of the Dragon’s Lair, with Dragonkeepers and loyalists lurking in the shadows.

Sessions will run from 2-7pm on Friday and 11am-7pm on Saturday. Register for your free tickets here.

And just a moment for the important stuff: Terms and conditions apply. This is a 15+ event only. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t sleep on it.

House Of The Dragon Season Three: Fan Theories, Predictions And What To Expect

Note: Non-book readers, read on with ease because we won’t be discussing any book spoilers. We’re staying true to what has unfolded on seasons one, two and the official HBO trailer for season three.

With the return of Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cook as Queen Alicent Hightower, the official season three trailer of House of the Dragon proves this season is teeming with dragons. We finally get to witness what we’ve all been waiting for—the Dance of Dragons. Just as the trailer suggests, these are indeed turbulent times. We’ve got essentially every army gearing up for war.

Let’s start with the season opener—The Battle of the Gullet. We know it’s the biggest sea battle in Westeros history, so expect nail-biting fight scenes and very possibly the most bloodshed we’ve seen. It’s the Greens and the Blacks going dragon-to-dragon in full-blown warfare. We can say with certainty that this battle will most likely grace our screens sooner rather than later.

The trailer wastes no time jumping straight into the action—Rhaenyra is ready to take King’s Landing and is stopping at no end to claim the Iron Throne. But we see she’s losing the people of King’s Landing. The city becomes a breeding ground for uncertainty and distrust among the Small Folk.

Season two left us with many teases of what’s to come in season three. One of them? Prince Daeron Targaryen. It felt like all hope was almost lost when it came to Alicent’s youngest son, but just as season two came to a close, like, right in the final episode, we spotted the prince and his dragon, Tessarion. We reckon it’s safe to say we’ll see a lot more of him from 22 June onwards.

Boy, is the rumour mill among fans hot with theories. Who’s holding the dragon egg in the trailer? Is it Aemon? And what's with the mysterious cave, with what appears to be a dragon within? Speaking of dragons, do we think Sunfyre will come back? And everyone online is betting their gold that the finale will be the Battle of Tumbleton.

We’re in for eight episodes for season three, dropping every Monday for us Aussie watchers streaming on HBO Max. If you haven’t already, subscribe to HBO Max.
