You Can Soon Return To Paradise With Lindeman Island’s $60 Million Dollar Redevelopment
When the turquoise waters and beautiful beaches of the Whitsundays call your name, you’ll soon have a new landing place in Lindeman Island with a revitalisation of the iconic destination set to open next year.
As one of the earliest Whitsunday islands to offer accommodation back in the 1920s, before hitting its heyday in the 80s and 90s with Australia’s first Club Med, Lindeman Island was once a favourite for holidaygoers and will be returned to its former glory in partnership with Singapore-based investment company Well Smart Group and Asia-Pacific hotel management company La Vie Hotels & Resorts. It’s been a long time coming, with the former Club Med site having closed back in 2012 and now slated for a $60 million transformation—breathing new life into the island.

“Securing Le Méridien as our hotel brand for Lindeman Island is a defining moment for this project,” said director of Well Smart Group, Jack Jia. “Le Méridien's global reputation for design-led luxury and its celebration of culture and the good life is the perfect fit for what we are creating here in the Whitsundays.”
“This is a destination with a proud history, and together with La Vie Hotels & Resorts and the Marriott Bonvoy platform behind us, we are confident Lindeman Island will reclaim its place as one of Australia's most iconic resort experiences and take its rightful position on the world stage."
