Consider yourself a film scholar? Or maybe you're just a crime fiend who's come to the end of Mindhunter on Netflix (god it was good, wasn't it?). Either way, you've gotta give it to the oldies for pioneering the genre back in the day. If it wasn't for their creepy ideas back in the 40s, we wouldn’t have any of our favourite murder mysteries of today (If you haven’t seen Happy Valley on Stan we are judging).

To relive the masterpieces or experience the pioneers for the first time yourself, head to Dendy Cinemas this month for their Murder Mysteries Film Festival. Over a glorious two week period, you can catch the classics from the 40s that started it all, like Murder on the Orient Express, The Third Man and Kind Hearts And Coronets.

The murder-tatstic lineup is sure to immerse you in the skilful storytelling and film making techniques that highlight the masterful nature of the murder mystery genre. Bonus, they do student discounts, there are lots of viewing times and that addictive movie theatre popcorn is sure to be as salty, buttery and fresh as ever. The festival starts on 18 March and continues until 31 March and you can get tickets here.
