Platypus’ Cult-Favourite Kicks Club Is Back With A Free Gig Featuring Old Mervs
If your social calendar could use a little shot of live music-induced serotonin, this is your sign. Platypus is bringing its cult-favourite Platypus Kicks Club x Vans to the Gold Coast this May with a free live show from indie-rock duo Old Mervs—yep, tickets will cost you absolutely nothing.
Taking over Burleigh Town Hotel on Thursday 7 May, the one-night-only gig lands as the WA pair, stepping out in Vans, ride high off their new single Heavy In The Morning and gear up for a North American tour. Before they jet off, they’re pulling into Burleigh for what’s shaping up to be a sweaty, high-energy hometown-style blowout.
If you haven’t crossed paths with Old Mervs yet, get queuing—they're about to go triple platinum on your Spotify Wrapped. The WA duo have built a devoted following off sun-drenched garage-rock anthems, high-energy live sets and songs that are basically custom-made for road trips and festival fields.
The whole thing is part of Platypus’ Kicks Club—the retailer’s loyalty program that’s about tapping into the things its community actually cares about; namely, shoes, music and getting people into rooms together. Not a bad formula.
While the headline act alone is worth showing up for, there’ll also be special guest appearances and a few freebies up for grabs—with more still to be announced—so it’s worth keeping an eye on this one.
How To Score Free Tickets
